The TAOL/HUB International Ontario Locksaver Insurance Package is one of the most important benefits of TAOL Membership. It's VALUE cannot be overstated. Insurance for Locksmiths is not mandatory in Ontario but to carry on business without it is fool hardy at best, could lead to business loss, financial failure and family breakup at it's worst. The cost of this package starts at only $750 for TAOL members!
It covers all the basics like replacing lost stock in a shop fire or a large pane of glass that cracked by accident on the job. It covers your tools in the shop and the van, and liability if someone gets hurt on your property or out on the job. BUT it also covers things left out by many other store and mobile insurance packages like counterfeit money, Employee Dishonesty, non-owned vehicle liability, malpractice insurance like your doctor has, and even a LOCKSMITH BOND.
The package was negotiated by the Association and the broker by examining LOCKSMITH OPERATIONS specifically. The facts are, our shops do not get broken into often, there is not much left lying around to steal, AND we are very careful in our day to day business. The stats showed these facts.
