About Us

The Academy of Locksmithing was formed under the guidelines of the Private Vocational Schools Act (this act was updated in 2005 and is now called the Private Career Colleges Act) to provide professional technical training in the field of locksmithing.

This training is presented at various levels geared to the students' knowledge and skill level. Courses are primarily designed to introduce locksmithing as a tradesman's skill and provide practical exercises to the novice student.

Formal training at an advanced level and speciality courses are also available as continued education for those individuals wishing to improve their skills in specific specialities.

The Academy of Locksmithing is directed by a President appointed by the Directors of the Association of Ontario Locksmiths. The activities of the Academy are governed by a body of directors.

Academy classes are routinely scheduled throughout the year to meet student demand. Classes are conducted during the evening Monday through Friday from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Testing and evaluation (written and practical) are held on Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Students receive a certificate of Achievement upon successful completion of testing.

The Academy is conveniently located on Midland Avenue near the 401-Kennedy Road interchange, close to hotels and restaurants, with public transportation stopping within a short walk of the facilities.
